Assembly for the Future – a project of The Things We Did Next
Assembly for the Future is a series of participatory digital gatherings in which the public will create new visions for futures that may be realistic, idealistic or utterly fanciful.
A multi-platform exploration of futures to come in the era of climates changed, Assembly for The Future transports collaborators, participants and audiences to 2029, when significant impacts on planetary health are causing powerful transformations of our cultural, political and energy systems.
Guests including Claire G. Coleman, Scott Ludlam, Alice Wong, Santilla Chingaipe and Anne Manne will each aid us in collectively imagining better worlds. Using a simple approach involving a keynote provocation, creative responses and facilitated collective creation, we will envisage new pathways for the coming decade.
Each Assembly for The Future will generate creative responses culminating in a body of work from 2029: Dispatches from the Future, Future Archive and Artworks from the Future.
Working within an assembly of thinkers, artists and provocateurs, you are invited to become protagonists, putting your imagination at the service of creating other, better, futures.
Assemble. Imagine. Create.
Assembly for the Future is the feature project of BLEED between 6 July – 19 July. New works and content will be going live throughout the these dates and until the end of the Festival. Have a wander, explore the project and see what’s to come.
