This discussion mentions death and dying.
BLEED artist Yinga Chen discusses his artwork Eternal Journey of the Digital Soul with artist, curator and artwork subject Paul Boyé. Harnessing AI technology to create distinct digital personas, Chen interviewed four individuals from various backgrounds and ages (including Boyé) to explore their views on life, death, identity and legacy. With this work, Chen invites audiences to reflect on their own lives and legacies, their enduring relationship with the digital world, and how AI technology can influence the process of mourning.
- Yinga Chen’s residency at PICA was made possible with the support of the PICA Art Ambassadors, the Department of Local Government, Sport & Cultural Industries through a Sector Development Grant, North Metropolitan TAFE, and Treasure Hill Artist Village.
BLEED (Biennial Live Event in the Everyday Digital) was conceived by Campbelltown City Council through Campbelltown Arts Centre, and The City of Melbourne through Arts House. BLEED 2024 is produced and presented by Campbelltown Arts Centre, Arts House, and Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts in partnership with Treasure Hill Artist Village.
